by TUC Library on 2020-05-15T12:10:00-07:00 | 0 Comments
Great news! Kanopy (https://tu.kanopy.com/), the movie streaming service of which the TUC Library is a customer, is currently offering free streaming of a rotating selection of 30+ movies, as well as its entire selection of The Great Courses, which is over 6,000 titles! If you've never heard of The Great Courses, they are engaging courses on a diverse range of topics, from history to cooking to infectious diseases, and are created for life long learners. This free offer is for Kanopy customers during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and will be available to us through the month of May, and possibly longer.

How to Watch Movies on Kanopy
The selection of rotating free movies is updated weekly and is listed under "Kanopy Spotlight" at this link: https://tu.kanopy.com/. When you scroll down the page you will also see The Great Courses, as well as the movies the TUC Library has licensed. This small, but growing collection of TUC licensed titles includes The Central Park Five and Wrestling Ghosts, with more to be added soon. You can also find the collection of movies the Library has  licensed on our Canvas Organization in the Streaming Movies module.

All the movies you see on the homepage under Kanopy Spotlight at https://tu.kanopy.com/ are available for you to stream for free as TUC students, faculty, and staff. You will be asked to sign in via OpenAthens to view movies. To log in, look for the button that says LOG IN TO TU. You may need to scroll down the page to see this button, but please note, it's not the log in button in the top, right corner.
Kanopy Personal Accounts
You do not need a free personal account with Kanopy to view movies offered through TUC. However, you can sign up for one if you'd like to build a watchlist and keep track of your viewing history. To do so, click on the SIGN UP button in the top right corner of the homepage. Then, to sign in to your personal account, click the LOG IN button in the top right corner.

We hope you enjoy these movies for a little break. If you have any questions, please contact our Electronic Resources Librarian, Julie Horwath at julie.horwath@tu.edu
