In order to enable access to library online resources from off-campus, you will need to access the OpenAthens links through the Library website, LibGuides, etc. OpenAthens enables users to authenticate with off campus with their TouroOne logins or a personal OpenAthens account (if a TUC Adjunct, Student of Leave of Absence, etc.).
Previously, we used a proxy to authenticate and all links to Library resources had a proxied url. In order to continue accessing the Library resource, you will need to "Athenize" any links you have bookmarked, posted in Canvas courses, or on syllabi. One way you can make sure your links are updated is to go back to the Library website, look up the resources, and copy the new link. Alternatively, you can also take the steps below to Athenize your links.
Step 1: Remove 0- from the beginning of the url (zero, not the letter O).
Step 2: Remove .library.touro.edu in the middle of your url, directly after the .com, .org, etc. and before the rest of the url.
Example:
Without proxy:
http://www.sciencemag.org/content/337/6095/658
With proxy:
http://0-www.sciencemag.org.library.touro.edu/content/337/6095/658
Step 3: Remove dashes (-) from links, if there are any, and replace with period marks.
Example:
With dashes: https://5minuteconsult-com
Dashes removed and replaced with ".": https://5minuteconsult.com
Step 4: Now that you have fully removed the proxy from your url, use the OpenAthens link generator to Athenize your link.

It is better from a copyright and licensing perspective to provide someone a link to a journal article or book section than it is to distribute the pdf.
